In case your visit in Iligan is limited, you may try to visit the falls that are accessible like Maria Cristina Falls, Mimbalut Falls, Tinago Falls and Dodiongan Falls.

Waterfalling actually means waterfalls hopping. In Iligan, you can do this as most of the waterfalls are just less than an hour from the city proper. But if you have limited time you should not miss Tinago Falls, Maria Cristina Falls and Dodiongan Falls.

Located in Barangay Maria Cristina, this falls is just 25 minutes ride from the City Proper.

Mimbalut Falls and Eco-Adventure Nature Park

This Falls is the most accessible waterfalls in Iligan with only 5 minutes ride from the Buruun Highway. This is also the venue of the Past National Board Reunion with a Hawaiian Inspired theme. The event here is to be hosted by Past NP Allan Ranillo. Located in Barangay Buruun, this is just 30 minutes ride from the City Proper.

Tinago Falls

Located in Barangay Buruun, this falls is also called as the Hidden Falls. The waterfall is high, and its cool water splashes beautifully in a deep, peaceful, pond-shaped lake that looks like a blue lagoon. Under the waterfall there is a small cave that people can enter to touch the splash of water. In fact, Tinago Falls in Iligan City was named by international magazine Travel + Leisure as one of the 25 waterfalls in the world to see before you die. The challenge going to the hidden falls is the 300+steps that you must conquer. This is just only 30 minutes ride from the city proper.

Dodiongan Falls

This is a nice destination for nature-lover. Trekking is the name of the game where you can pass-by brooks and rivers. If you love adventure, you can visit this place anytime of the day. Located in Barangay Bonbonon, this falls is just 30 minutes from the city Proper.

Iligan is worth your visit.

Though, Iligan is not a destination for conventions in the past being a small city and the un-availability of a Large Convention Center, Iligan is slowly gaining grounds as a destination for meetings and seminars. In its history, the 70th JCI Philippines National Convention will be the biggest event so far according to the City Tourism Office. This convention will serve as an impetus for other big national events to happen in the future. With the rising number of budget-friendly accommodations, Iligan City is ready to showcase its potentials as a tourist destination.

Getting Here

The nearest airport to Iligan City is the Laguindingan Airport. Flight time from Manila to Laguindingan Airport is approximately one hour and 20 minutes.

From Laguindingan Airport, JCIP Natcon Buses will be available for the delegates with a given waiting time. You can also get an accredited Natcon Taxi or a van. Travel time from Laguindingan to Iligan is approximately forty five minutes to one hour.

From Manila, you can take a boat going to Iligan City seaport, and then take a taxi or bus to Iligan City. From Cebu, there is a daily boat schedule going to Iligan or Cagayan de Oro seaport.
